Its possibly one of the most poorly put together TV shows this side of the universe. With story lines not getting resolved, characters that are about as deep as a puddle of piss and dialogue so bad it makes EastEnders look like the lost works of Christopher Marlowe. Yet why do we all love GLEE so much?
Well fear not you filthy ‘Gleek’ because you aren’t the only ones living in shame for loving such trash. This years Emmy Awards have been dishing out the praise for the hit US show.
Pink news reported that Jane Lynch won an Outstanding Supporting Actress Emmy award on Sunday night for her performance as the hilariously mean, Sue Sylvester.
Lynch, who married her partner Dr Lara Embry in May this year, said in her acceptance speech: “I want to thank my parents on the South Side of Chicago for raising us to the sounds of musical theater and being so unintentionally hilarious. I love being an actor. I love being an ensemble.”
She added: “[actors] have no choice or any marketable skills. I have to thank my lord and creator [Glee originator] Ryan Murphy for creating this role of a lifetime and the cast who are so young and fresh-faced, and when I’m not seething with jealousy, I’m so proud of you. And I love you my wife Laura and my little girl, Haden.”
The shows creator also won the award for Best Direction in a Comedy.
The show is gearing up for its second season this year so prepare yourselves for more camp teenage angst from the Glee kids, shit life affirming speeches followed by cringe worthy dance moves from Mr ‘Shue’ and, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, rumor has it SuBo will be making an appearance….Just remember, ‘That’s the way Sue (Bo), sees it.’
