Getting the conversation started with someone new can be tricky business. So
tricky in fact that we sometimes resort to using a whole range of chat up lines
to get the conversation off the ground. At their best, chat up lines can be
funny, sweet and sometimes very intelligent. At their worst chat up lines can
lead to some pretty embarrassing situations and can be the cause of a romance to
end before it has even has the chance to get started.
Some of the chat-up lines to avoid
If you must use chat up lines when chatting to guys, just be very careful not to
use any of these ones:
‘Hmmm, you’ll do.’ – This line would only used by the most arrogant of
individuals. A well placed, ironic, insult can sometimes work if delivered well
but this one is just plain rude.
‘My parents are away this weekend, want to stay over?’ – Never, ever let on that
you still live with your parents. Suggest a hotel if you have to but do not take
a date back to your childhood bedroom.
‘Fancy a game of pin the cock in the arsehole’ – Honestly, this has been used
and to my knowledge it has never ever led to enjoyable, consensual sex.
‘Do you have a mirror in your pocket? I can see myself in your pants’ - Far too
cheesy for anyone to want to talk to your after delivering this line,
‘You have 206 bones in your body; want one more?’ – Maybe not the very worst of
gay chat up lines but definitely up there in the top ten.
‘If I was a woman, I would fancy you so much’ – Disguised as a smart way to find
out if someone is gay without asking outright but either way, you’re gonna give
the game away.
‘Wow, you look just like Johnny Depp/Brad Pitt/Prince William’ – Even if it is
true, the poor guy has probably heard it a thousand times, come up with
Gay chat is about having fun, don't try too hard and avoid the
above chat-up lines.
